In which order do the episodes go? It doesn't say which one is #1,2,3,4 Welcome to the hell-mouth, Witch, The Harvest, Teacher's Pet. I don't know which one to watch first. Thanks.

So the episodes are NOT on the discs in airdate order?
Yes, the episodes ARE on the discs in the order shown in Ric's post. But the menus are a little confusing. For example, the first disc main menu is laid out something like this:

Welcome to the Hellmouth ------------- The Harvest
-------- Witch ---------------------- Teacher's Pet

There's no numbering, so it's a little confusing - which way do you go, across or down? Turns out it's across.

Now, the booklet that comes with the set lists & numbers all of the episodes in the correct order. So I'm guessing you guys bought a used set that didn't include the booklet?

The menus for Season 2 are better: the eps are listed in one column, top to bottom. Much more intuitive.

I think they are in air order, it's just hard to tell in the groups of 4 the order. If I remember they are presented on the screen as 2 across and 2 down.

So I think the question is do you read them across or down, like columns. It's across from left to right.

EDIT: Doh! Craig beat me to it!

Unfortunately they go back to the lack of intuition for Season 4. Of course, you have the booklet with that...

I agree that Buffy had one of the most confusing menu systems with regards to episodic order. I was able to figure it out based on the first 2 episodes though.

Yes, these menus are confusing. I wanted to loan these discs to my mom (who has never seen Buffy) and I know when I do I'll have to make sure she knows which order to watch them.

I have the booklet, I just don't handle the case all that much. I keep all my tv shows in jewel cases. What I do is put the current disc from each different show I am working on in a jewel case. This eliminates having to handle the case all the time and hopefully will make them last longer.

That makes sense, John.

I really have to wonder - would it have killed them to put a number in front of those episode names?
