I came across a rumor on DVDTalk posted by someone who has been quite reliable in the past (and it is not an April Fool joke). Disney is supposed to have these titles on their release slate. Looks like they are going for quantity over quality. If the 4/2 releases are any indication, many excellent titles will be receiving mediocre treatment (they will be cheap though).

Since You've Been Gone
Two Bits
Unhook The Stars
Disney has rights to the Woo titles and Grifters ??!!
Seems quite unusual that Disney would be releasing over 20 titles on the same day. I am taking this rumor with a grain of salt, but I thought you guys would like to hear it anyway.

I dread that Muppet Christmas Carol will be P&S-only like Muppet Treasure Island. Would be a shame.

Other titles that I have been really waiting for are "Housegeuest", "Jungle 2 Jungle", and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". I already have these Pan & Scan on VHS, only interested in getting them in widescreen on DVD.

Hopefully, they'll have some extras, too, since they're not slated to come out until October. 10/8 is gonna rule!

There's lots on this list I have been waiting for, such as

Ed Wood

Swing Kids

Can't Buy Me love

Betsy's Wedding

Now Buena Vista, where are Citizen Ruth and Noises Off?

Luke,

Where was that confirmation that Muppet Treasure Island was going to be P&S only?!?

Hey Chad,
Disney has been cryptic with the specs of their upcoming titles. I have it from very reliable sources that Muppet Treasure Island is slated to be P&S only, as well as "Max Keeble's Big Move", "Snow Dogs", and "Cheetah".
Oh, I wish this was an April Fool's. :frowning:
 to Disney and their new DVD practices!

I'll be taking these, assuming uncut and OAR. I could really care less about the extras.

The Program hope for at least seamless branching
Spaced Invaders
Swing Kids
October 8:
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
Honey, I Blew Up The Kid
Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves
Houseguest
Jungle 2 Jungle
Muppet Christmas Carol
I would hope for a box set on the Ernest & "Honey" discs.

If this is true, and I'm taking it with a grain of salt....WOOHOO!

Cabin Boy, Ed Wood, and best of all, ERNEST GOES TO DVD!

Make fun of me if you wish, but Jim Varney was a guy I watched all the time as a kid. Let's hope these are at least OAR and anamorphic.

I'd get all of the Ernest movies and the muppets (if it's in OAR that is).

Where's "Outrageous Fortune"? Simply a must have for a double feature with "Big Business." :)
Take note, Disney, these (and others from the list) will be purchased only if in OAR.

If the titles are anamorphic, I will buy. Let me just say this, if it is true, Im going bankrupt coming September 3 (oh yes, all those Ernest movies WILL BE mine along with Cabin Boy) and October 8 (the Honey movies, Jungle 2 Jungle, and the underrated comedy classic Houseguest :)).

You won't be going bankrupt on 9/3. The first group of titles on that list for 9/3 have a list price of $9.95. The Woo titles look like reissues of the Winstar discs as the artwork is exactly the same, but let's hope for better.

I have the flyer and no specs are given on any of those listed but they are all $19.95 or less.

I hate to be a potential bummer... but isn't it quite possible this could be yet another April Fool's Day joke?

Now that's my kind of price for a cheap bastard like myself. :) Hopefully Disney wont use full frame transfers and we will be getting widescreen (hopefully anamorphic) transfers for that list price.
Also, why would Disney release Hard Boiled and The Killer? Last time I checked, they won't release unrated material (but that doesn't stop them from putting unrated deleted scenes on such DVDs like Scary Movie 2).
