Please list all of the movies that you would like the Disney corportaion or their affiliates (Hollywood, Touchtone, Miramax etc) to release or re-release on dvd

I am so dissapointed that Disney has chosen to release all of their family movies in Fullscreen only

Here is a list of the movies that I would like them to re-release
Please only release these movies if they are in 16:9 WIDESCREEN

HolyMan 16:9 (maybe with deleted scenes)
Ransom Director's Cut (previously availiable on the LD)
Dead Poets Society Extended Version (availiable on LD)
Operation Dumbo Drop (re-release it in OAR 2:35!!!)
Judge Dredd 16:9 (SE with extras?!!)
Enemy of the State (SE 16:9!)
Man of the House (RE-RELEASE IN oar 1:85)
Homeward Bound (re-release in OAR 1:85)
    A Goofy Movie (re-release in OAR 1:85)
    Snow Dogs (re-release in OAR)
Con Air (16:9 maybe with extras)
    Crimson Tide (16:9maybe w/ extras)
First Kid (re-release in OAR 1:85)
    Heavyweights (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Blank Check (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Can't Buy Me Love (re-release in OAR 1:85)
    Jungle 2 Jungle (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Honey I shrunk the Kid (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Honey I Blew Up the Kid (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Muppet Treasure Island (re-release in OAR 1:85)
Muppet Christmas Carol (re-release in OAR 1:85)
New York Stories (re-release in OAR 1:85)

You would not have to re-release this many movies if you would have made them in widesreen in the first place. Many companies like warner and columbia, make both formats availaible, some on the same disc. You need to listen to the people and give them a choice of both, or just widescreen. As you know HDTV will eventually be replacing standard tv's. These widescreen dvd's will look horrible on one of those tv's!!

I'd like to see an anamorphic CANDLESHOE and SIRENS. How's that for a double feature?

Also, THE MAN WHO WENT UP A HILL BUT CAME DOWN A MOUNTAIN and BEAUTIFUL GIRLS.

The topic's been brought up many times before but can we add Song of the South to that list?

    I want:

—Happiest Millionaire (roadshow version), 16x9 with 4.0 sound and some extras
—The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band, restored to the originally intended length (at least three songs were cut before release), 16x9, in stereo
—The Shaggy Dog (SE, 16x9, uncolorized)
—The Absent-Minded Professor (SE, 16x9, uncolorized)
—Son of Flubber (SE, 16x9, uncolorized)
—the remaining Herbie films (I don't expect SEs for them, but OAR and 16x9 would be the least I could ask)
—uncensored and unedited versions of films previously released censored and edited
—The Black Hole (remastered 16x9 SE with plenty of extras, such as making-of from the anthology series and three alternate endings)
—The Watcher in the Woods (restored to its original version)
—Flight of the Navigator (16x9, preferrably SE)
    —Song of the South

    TV Material:
—Disney anthology series episodes (1954-1983 preferrably), uncut and with original openings and closings, somehow I doubt season sets will happen; a serious plan to release a wide variety of these from all decades
—Zorro in season sets (only 2 seasons plus 4 hour-long specials)
—the four short-lived TV series produced in the early 1980s for CBS
—Golden Girls (season sets with extras + sequel series Golden Palace)
    —Dinosaurs (season sets)

BVHE has plans to do nifty DVD editions of every Disney theatrical picture I could want--except "Song of the South." In 1980 our family went to see this in a theater, and I remember it vividly because, while suffering through Muppets and Goonies, this was the only movie my dad was really excited to have us see (it was the first movie his parents had taken him to).

Will it happen? I like the idea of a scholarly approach to this one, with the usual Vault Disney stuff supplemented by analysis from film experts and other historians. I won't go any farther because this whole subject is probably being hashed over in 14 forums as I speak.

Disney miscellany: How about a Treasures set of theme park films--stuff that's only been seen by visitors to the Magic Kingdom? I hear a Treasures set of Disney educational films is being considered--that would be awesome.

Disney TV: Earlier in this thread someone mentioned the unlikelyhood of anthology series season sets, and as much as I would want these and shell out big bucks for them, I sadly agree. (FWIW, I would not want full season sets beyond 1966. The anthology series became dominated by reruns and theatricals soon after Walt's death.)

One reason I don't see season sets of anthology episodes is because I just don't know if all of them exist. Extracts of the anthology shows have been DVD bonus features from time to time and the quality ranges from pristine to mediocre. On the "Disney Studio" Treasures set, some episodes start in black and white and shift to color, with a disclaimer (paraphrase alert!) that original color elements could not be located.

I don't know if I would want or need season sets of the original "Mickey Mouse Club", but a Treasures set with 10 or 15 eps and bonus features would be fantastic. And maybe...just maybe...you could have one of those eps on the disc as it originally aired, with commercials and sponsor bumpers.

My most wanted list from Disney/BV is topped by the following two items:

The Zorro TV show and Return to Snowy River (OAR). I feel sure we'll get the Zorro series (eventually), but I fear that poor sales of the pan and scan butchering of Return to Snowy River (which was shot in 2.35:1) will lead Disney to feel that there's not enough of a market to warrant a re-release.
