Budget system for under $1k Cdn (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm a new user and this is my first post.

I plan on spending no more than a grand Cdn for a receiver and 5.1 speakers. That said, I've recently ordered a Denon 1403 from eCost for just over $210 Cdn shipped.

Now I'm looking for speakers. I'm considering the following setup:
CSS Elf 1.5 $190cdn ***.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=ELF1.05HTCAB

and CLARUS8150PR subwoofer $339

Can anyone give me some opinions in this setup?

OR I've also considered the Athena Micra 6 and Engergy Take 5.2 systems. Am I better off with these two choices?

It looks good. I made some speakers with the TB 871s in the Elfs and they sound great. The only thing I would change is definitely the sub. I would get the Clarus 10150 with the SX10 XBL^2 woofer for $429. I think you will have a better quality and sounding setup with DIY, and it is very rewarding.
