I was looking at the Acoustic research HC2 setup that uses the Edge satellites as well as the Velodynbe setup at onecall. Also considering the old take5's. He'll be getting the Yamaha 5250 receiver from jandr.com for $300. What would you reccomend for a $400 to $650 setup that would include the speakers and the sub. I really am looking hard at the AR setup, but don't know much about them. Help please. thanks

Try contacting Kevin2 at Audio Review. He has an Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 package for sale for $500. Don't know if it is still available but it is definately worth a shot. Here is the link:

I found it in the Home Theater forum. For a sub, you could go with the Sony SA-WM40 sub for now until you can afford to upgrade. That may be your best route.

    Glenn,
Surprised your setup hasn't been scooped up by anyone yet, given the selling price.
