For a couple of month now, I have been on the look out for a direct-view widescreen HDTV (30" - 34") . I was going to take the plunge on a Samsung TSL but heard about their new range and decided to wait.
My question is that does anyone know anything about the other relatively cheap direct-view HDTVs?
Daewoo Digital have released a 30 and 34" model and I believe they have built-in HDTV tuners. I've seen the 30" model for $1,600. Anyone seen one / own one?
What about Advent? I know their models are manufactured in China but I think I read somewhere that they are the first to include some new line-doubler, image enhancer feature. I also believe they will come in at under 2,000 with built-in tuners. Any one seen one / own one?
And what of the new Samsung range? J and R have some models (TXM3097WHF for 1,300) but they are not in stock. J and R also list the TXM3098WHF for 1,500 but say it's a 4:3 aspect ratio TV. I thought the W meant it was widescreen and just HF would be 4:3
Thanks,
Jon
