I have a 4 year old Toshiba Theater view 50 inch that had its screen cracked during a move. I am sure its going to cost way more to fix than it is worth. My questions is, is there any other use for it? I have heard something somewhere about being able to stand them on there top and project a picture to a screen or something like that. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.

Thanks

Jeff, this is more involved than a typical Basics area-type question, so I've moved it here. As for the screen, is it the "protective" outer screen that has been cracked? If so, just toss it and be done with it. If not, then, of course, you do have an expensive problem (i.e., you must replace the screen). And as for standing it on its end and using it as a Rube Goldberg-ish "front-projection" screen — er, no.
