There are so many rude and obnoxious comments I could make right now, but I don't want to lose my HTF membership so I'll refrain. :D

I was thinking the Music Area, though technically anything music-related in this release belongs to Max Martin, not Britney.

UK Greatest Hits DVD Press Release
Britney mania swept the world in 1999 when she single-handedly reinvented the pop video with "…Baby One More Time".

For the past five years she has consistently helped revolutionise music television with some of the most innovative pop videos (most recently with Toxic and Everytime). Now it's time to re-live those memorable video moments of Britney Spears' dazzling career so far with the BMG/Jive release of the highly anticipated music 20-track music DVD collection: Britney Spears Greatest Hits: My Prerogative on November 8.

The groundbreaking DVD promises to be a DVD like no others. The special collection will be an entirely new type of experience for Britney's fans. The DVD will feature a "spatial timeline" through which viewers will be able to explore Britney's videos by moving forwards and backwards through time. Here, Britney's video clips will be positioned chronologically in 3D space. Each video represents a benchmark or era in the evolution of Britney's expansive video career. Following this concept, the clips will occasionally link to highlight moments of bonus video drawn from that same point in time.

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative features all of Britney's smash videos and rarely seen import clips. In total, there are 20 videos PLUS half of them are EXPANDED with never-before-seen footage including alternate versions, multi-angle versions, multi-audio versions, hidden bonus features and interactive surprises.

Britney Spears has sold over 55 million records since her debut album in 1999. This unique music DVD collection of all her greatest hits will include some of the biggest hits from the albums …Baby One More Time (1999), Oops!…I Did It Again (2000), Britney (2001) and …In The Zone (2003).

This timely music DVD collection will feature the pop video for the hotly tipped new single, a remake of Bobby Brown's classic My Prerogative to be released in the UK on November 1. The track has been produced by Bloodshy & Avant the production team responsible for Toxic.

On November 8, BMG/Jive will simultaneously release 'Britney Spears Greatest Hits: My Prerogative' on CD.

Greatest Hits DVD to Have Alternate Takes of Videos and Show More Skin
Think you've seen all of Britney's music videos?

Then you must be who Spears had in mind when she put together her DVD video retrospective, "Greatest Hits: My Prerogative." The set will contain several alternate versions of many of her top clips, including one for "Toxic" in which she wears nothing but diamonds the entire time.

Not only are some of the clips rarely seen and, in some cases, never-before-seen versions, but 10 of the 20 videos that comprise the November 9 collection have been expanded and enhanced. Fans can watch new footage from "Everytime" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy," as well as the never-before-released material shot before the singer's knee injury on the set of "Outrageous" (see "Britney Busts Knee, Complicating Video Shoot And Tour"), including one scene where she's playing basketball with Snoop Dogg and ends up in his arms, giving him a little lick for luck.

Spears' camp was able to provide so many alternate versions because directors often shoot a full pass at a song in each costume, and then only use a few moments of it in the finished clip. So while some of the alternate takes of "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again" will look familiar, the videos have been re-cut for a whole new feel. One of those alternate clips, for "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know," makes the most use of Britney's body of work, with the spaceman from "Oops! ... I Did It Again," an opening door from "My Prerogative" and a guy from "Toxic" all making cameos. And though "Outrageous" was never finished, it, too, gets an alternate version.

Though the footage was easily accessible, assembling it wasn't so easy. The project took four months to put together, her label rep said, as crews combed through unused footage and edited new versions for some, and used instrumentals and alternate audio in others. There's a new vocal mix for "I'm a Slave 4 U," for instance, and in "(You Drive Me) Crazy," the alternate audio gives the feel of Spears singing the song as a round, where the beat is in sync but one layer of her vocals is just slightly ahead of the other.

Not all of the features are going to be easy to find. The DVD provides two menus — one for original versions, one for alternates. But with some digging, fans will also find hidden features, such as a second alternate version of "My Prerogative," consisting entirely of the film shown in the original version, where Spears is seen rolling around on a bed in her underwear. (The first alternate version includes more footage of Spears' husband, Kevin Federline).

As many versions as Spears offers, however, there's one that fans have to provide — by singing along. An alternate take of "Toxic" lets you hear the music and see Britney, but no vocals come out of her mouth. And since she's wearing nothing but those infamous diamonds, the guide lyrics help provide some necessary cover-up — try watching that and getting the words right.

The DVD might be worth it; but I'm not interested in the CD. That alternate "My Prerogative" sounds good...

Warning to anyone considering this- there is NO multichannel sound mix for this, despite the In The Zone album being released on DVD-Audio and the songs on the Time Out With Britney Spears DVD getting 5.1 mixes!
This is the last time I buy something based on a press release.
(But yes, she still looks hot :D )
There's an instrumental version of Toxic too, sounds much better without her alleged singing.
And no, I didn't really pay for this.

Naked except for diamonds?

Are they covering her fabled boobs or is this a necklace we're talking about here?

Not a fan of her looks or her music, but this information could be helpful to those who are.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

More of a Pink type himself.

I went before school this morning to pick up this and the cd. It's not too bad, the only people it's for are fans though, most will be bored by most, if not all, of the
"expanded and enhanced" videos. Most of them are just her beauty shoots from the music videos where they shoot them thought the whole song so they can be added into the video wherever. But, me, being a huge fan loved it. You also get to see Britney mess up afew times during dance routines, and make various funny faces into the camera.

Overall, I'm very glad I got up an hour early just to pick this up. But then again, that's just me.

I enjoyed it also. I didn't think it was as comprehensive as the press release made it sound, or could have been. Let's just say it had the potential to be better, maybe if Britney had taken part in it. But then again, to own all of Britney's videos on one DVD for under $15 is still a great deal. I'm glad I picked it up, along with the CD.

Andy

PS The Toxic alternative is worth the price alone! haha
