Brimstone & Treacle R1 DVD ever? (1 Viewer)

Has anyone ever heard of any plans or rumors for an R1 release of Brimstone & Treacle (starring Sting)? It's been available as an R2 release for ages. If not I guess I'm stuck buying a VHS copy on Ebay.

I really want Brimstone...I love that show....Heck even it was out for only one season...I want it..............Maybe a patition is in order

Can't help you, sorry. We saw this in the theater when it was first released, and were troubled for days. It's a disturbing movie, but the acting and the music is great. I wasn't surprised that Joan Plowright and Denholm Elliot were excellent, but Sting was a revelation as the charming, devious sexual sociopath. It isn't a great film, but it's odd and atmospheric and creepy, and I'd like to have a DVD too.

The R2 version is pretty horrible, by the way. It's full-frame, and looks like it came of a very old 1" analogue master.

well, it's coming next week and apparently, is widescreen but non-anamorphic. Argh!!!! Thanx again, MGM!!!!
