Anyone have any insight on this? Any release dates or even plans for these DVDs to be made?
The movies are supposed to be out from Paramount this year. They are two of the last VHS tapes I own, so all I gotta say is, they better!
"2, 4, 6, 8... wear your retainer, and your teeth will get straight!"
I'd love to see this series come out in season box sets.
I'll get both movies as well.
Oh man, I would pick up season episodes of this in a heartbeat!
While I wouldn't hold my breath, it'd be great to see Paramount add the deleted scenes that were added into the TV version of the first movie (which were also in the original trailer). There are about 5-10 mins. worth of amusing sequences that were put back into the TV cut.
They would make a killing off of the series if it was released on DVD.
I believe the Movies are now down for a 2004 release. *sigh*
So far, all we have are two DVDs from Rhino. One of the TV special BRADY BUNCH HOME MOVIES, and another with two episodes of THE BRADY BUNCH VARIETY HOUR. The latter is quite amusing! No word from Rhino on the rest of the variety shows.
I think the original series would do well in season sets, and I think it is only a matter of time until Paramount tests the waters with the first season.
I don't know if THE BRADY GIRLS GET MARRIED, THE BRADY BRIDES series, A VERY BRADY CHRISTMAS or THE BRADYS mini series are scheduled either.
AS for the recent features with Shelley Long and Gary Cole, there are three of them! THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE, A VERY BRADY SEQUEL and the recent TV sequel THE BRADY BUNCH IN THE WHITE HOUSE, which recently aired on FOX.
According to thedigitalbits.com (today's Rumor Mill update), the 2 movies (along with Polanski's The Tenant) are back on the schedule for 2003.
No TV series, but they are considering Cheers and Fraiser.
Re: the series
I had a thread over in Studio Feedback, and I believe Mr. Blythe said "no plans." So, it could happen, but probably not in the near future.
The Brady Bunch movies (the 2 theatrical ones for sure) are definately in-the-works for DVD, but not the TV Show (at least for now).
As for Cheers, I just sent cover art for S1 to Gord, who posted it at TVShowsOnDVD.com! Click the link in my sig to see it.
I do hope the two theatrical movies make it out this year.
Don't Paramount realise that "The Brady Bunch Movie" (along with "Addams Family Values" & "Clueless") were just about the only comedy gems the studio managed to produce in the entire 90s?
WHY the wait for a dvd release is what I want to know?
BTW, MASH Season 4 is coming in July (according to Season 3 paper)
I would love to have the Brady Bunch movies on DVD in anamorphic Widescreen.
I would also love to have the Brady Bunch TV Series on DVD in season format.
Just as someone mentioned Cheers and Fraisier earlier in the thread, Mash is just as much "on topic" as what those posters said. So appreciate the facts as you get them re: Cheers, Fraiser, Mash, and yes, even Brady Bunch.
Here in Japan, we don't get the differences in what tv programs belong to what studio so excuse my ignorance.
I think we are ignoring what's important.
WHEN IS PARAMOUNT GOING TO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF THE BB FILMS????????
Seriously. I have been waiting for these since 1999 when I first bought my player. They've been "in the works" for 2001, 2002, and now this year. I don't want to wait for September or something.
