Read the article over at FNC, sounds like he was a nice guy and was well liked,had a great long marriage to a wonderful woman and lived to be 99. We should all be so blessed.

Quite a life indeed. Also smart enough to see through the Nazi's evil plans, not to mention becoming a successful business man after he hung up his boxing gloves. I think it would make a good movie.

His fights with Louis are legendary, and one of the recent issues of Sports Illustrated (with a story on Million Dollar Baby) claims that Spike Lee has been trying to develop a film about the fight.

Just watched the PBS American Experience show on the fight. They said nobody ever heard a scream like when he got hit by Louis ( and had 2 vertabrae broken by the punch)
