Well i finally made a decision and bought a 36" JVC HDTV Flat Screen AV36P903 set today along with a stand and 3 year warranty......total price with delivery was like $1629.01

it was last years model but compared to the Sony 36" HDTV, the picture on this JVC looked soo much nicer.

I have always liked JVC unlike alot of people. My 20" JVC will now be moved to my bedroom.

A RPTV would be too big for my apartment so i decided to go with this tube.

Is it ok to play videogames on this 36 HTV set??

I think as long as you calibrate it properly with the contrast and brightness waaaaaay down, you should not have any problems.

now how do you calibrate a tube tv??

Same way you calibrate any other TV. You get a calibration disc such as Avia, Video Essential or the S&V Home Theater Tune up. You pop it in your DVD player and then follow the instructions. Basically it will help you adjust your user settings like brightness, contrast, sharpness etc... to the way things should look. It may take a bit of getting used to with the sharpness and contrast being lower than you're used to but soon you will notice that it produces a more film like image.
All of this is done through your menu on the TV.
