I am about to buy the Boston VR-3 Speakers and would like to know what the comments and PRO and CON'S are about them. What the quality is in sound as will as the construction of them. Are they a LOW END of the Speaker , Middle or high end of them?

I believe the BA VR-3's to be securely in the middle to upper-middle range.

I'm new to the HT "GAME" but had these towers recommended by some people I consider very knowledgeable.

However, when I looked into where a pair of these could be purchased, I was unable to easily find a seller.

The Boston Acoustics website lists Myer Emco as a seller- but when I went to the store the rep said they no longer sold them.

He also said the (BA) market strategists had traded for mass production in place of quality control so while one pair might be what's expected from BA another might be crappy.

However, I can't verify if that is true or just a sales rep trying to steer a customer toward a product he has available in store.

This particular rep had never heard of HTF so that made me go hmmm.

At any rate, when I then couldn't find them at CC and direct calls to BA dumped me to voice mail, I started looking elsewhere.

Currently, SVS' MTS "full size" 5.0 has my interest and they are available at the click of my mouse.

However, I don't just want to buy something because it's easily available.

I would be interested in anyone who's heard them, or otherwise has an opinion, compare the BA VR-3's and the SVS MTS-01's. I believe they are in about the same price range.

Where were you planning to buy the VR-3's if they are what you decide on?

You ask me where I would get them ONLY ONE PLACE ONECALL.COM They have them for $399.99 each a very good price. I brought stiff from them before and they care about and know their stiff. :emoji_thumbsup: :)

That price is a considerable break from their $625 listed price.

Thanks for the lead to onecall.com they seem to offer a lot.

However, my paranoid side has to question how a speaker can see such a reduction in price.

But for that price, what the hay, you could just give'em to your little sister if they don't meet expectation.

OneCall (and Vanns) often have excellent deals on products that are being fazed out. I've used OneCall a couple of times in the past and even received a follow up phone call a week or two after the purchase. BTW, those cherry VR-3's are very nice looking speakers.
