At work we have a Boston PV-400 on clearance, it is a 7" sub with a 65 watt amp, dual bandpass enclosure. Now my boss said since it was sent to service he could sell it to me for $100 or less. Its in good condition... but the thing Im worried about is that it doesnt play any lower than my front boston towers do. I think it would clean up the sound but it wouldnt add anything. I think it would just free up more power from the receiver because it wouldnt have to drive bass into the towers. I may ask him if I can take it home and try it... but I think waiting till april to get my SVS would be better. Just curious what you guys think.

P.S. I have a 250 Sq ft Room with vaulted ceilings, and a large opening to the stairs, hall, and dining room wich is another 100 sq ft.

I'll say "no" a sub like that could only help the weakest of systems. Be a great sub for your PC Mulitmedia stuff and sound, though.
