anyone have any imput on acoustimass 10 II speakers?
everyone here will say, they don't like bose. too overpriced.
Use the search function and you'll see everyone's opinions. If you're looking for good sound, you can do MUCH better for the price. If your ONLY concern is size of speakers and WAF (wife-acceptance-factor) then maybe Bose is right for you.
"everyone here will say, they don't like bose. too overpriced."
And those are the people who are being nice about it.
Bose = a Big Mac at filet mignon prices
If you haven't bought Bose yet, try them out against other systems. You MUST listen to them and decide if you like them compared to other speakers. Don't listen to them in the store either where the Bose are usually set up differently than other speakers. Take them home and try them. Trying speakers out at home is recommended for all speaker purchases.
People always say use the search function to the new people who ask about bose, but the fact that they're almost always new to the forum means that they'll probably have no idea how to search or that this is an old topic. Someone should get a mod to sticky just 1 long thread about Bose to eliminate these random new ones.
Anyone else agree?
Well ... it's already stuck there in the Primer/FAQ.
Section IV. "Isn't Bose the best?" http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...hreadid=120328
not enough! needs its own header!
You can spend your money on a much better product. Unless like others said you really not and care about a cosmetically appealing speaker.
It seems everyone at this forum has listened to BOSE.
That is amazing. No wonder we all have opinions on them.
Frankly, I am quite impressed with this by BOSE.
Now imagine what it will be like with a really impressive set-up!
This is good advice for any speaker purchase.
One thing you should keep in mind is that it is you that has to pay for them and listen to them, not the members of this forum. To be honest, if you are going to buy from a B&M, I'm not sure why you would consider any other opinions other than your own.
I would definitely consider the opinions of others if I were going to blow a wad of cash on something that was less than the best that I could get for my money. The fact that he is asking the question means he is a good consumer who wants to be informed about a big purchase. Most who buy Bose buy because of name and the percieved quality, often without even comparing it to other brands. I wander into the Bose store at one of my local malls because I like to hear what crap the salespeople are feeding their prospective customers and to see who these people are that are in there checking the stuff out. Decidedly a non-audiophile crowd, that tends to be looking for something easy to install and setup.
I understand and perhaps I was a bit strong. What I'm trying to say is it's ultimately his decision and if he has the luxury of listening to alternative speakers he should trust his ears first.
I think he gets the point guys
