Prime Video's hit cop drama "Bosch" is ending with the upcoming seventh season, but Deadline is reporting that Amazon Studios is producing a spinoff for its ad-supported IMDb TV free streaming service.

While Titus Welliver will continue to star as Harry Bosch, the new show is more of an ensemble. Madison Lintz will be featured more prominently in the new series, reprising her role as Harry's daughter Maddie. Mimi Rogers, who has recurred since the first season as high-end civil rights attorney Honey 'Money' Chandler, will also star.

Eric Overmyer will continue as showrunner. Author Michael Connelly will continue to write for the new series alongside returning writer Tom Bernardo. Zetna Fuentes, who directed episodes from the fourth and sixth seasons of "Bosch", will executive produce the spinoff and direct the pilot.

CULVER CITY, Calif., March. 3, 2021 — IMDb TV, Amazon’s premium free streaming service, today announced it has picked up a new spinoff series of the fan-favorite Amazon Original series Bosch. Based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling books, the new series will begin filming later this year with stars Titus Welliver, Mimi Rogers and Madison Lintz reprising their roles. The seventh and final season of Bosch will premiere in summer 2021 on Prime Video.

The new IMDb TV Original will follow Harry Bosch as he embarks on the next chapter of his career and finds himself working with his one-time enemy and top-notch attorney Honey “Money” Chandler. With a deep and complicated history between this unlikely pair, they must work together to do what they can agree on - finding justice.

Produced by Fabel Entertainment, the Bosch spinoff for IMDb TV is executive produced by Michael Connelly, Eric Overmyer, Tom Bernardo, Henrik Bastin, Pieter Jan Brugge, Titus Welliver and Zetna Fuentes. Fuentes (Bosch, Jane the Virgin, Shameless) will also direct the spinoff pilot.

I absolutely refuse to watch an "ad-supported delivery method" (which we used to call, you know, television!).

I'll happily pay for a streaming service to avoid ads. I won't watch ads at all. I'll simply not watch the content and actively suggest that friends and family avoid the content, too.

This stance goes doubly for Amazon services.

I hope this "network" utterly fails and is quickly shuttered. If that means the show gets cancelled, then so be it.

I agree 1000%. I am completely DONE with ad-supported television. It is extremely rare that I turn on "regular TV". There's a reason that every TV in the house has an Apple TV box connected and why every streaming service I subscribe to is done at the no ads level.

NEW YORK—May 2, 2022—Today, during the Amazon presentation at NewFronts, Amazon Freevee (formerly IMDb TV) announced an increased slate of premium Originals, with multiple pickups of scripted and unscripted content. The free streaming service greenlit a new cooking competition series called America’s Test Kitchen: The Next Generation, the coming-of-age drama Beyond Black Beauty, the family competition series Play-Doh Squished, and the music documentary Post Malone: Runaway. Freevee also picked up a second season of Bosch: Legacy and a third and fourth season of UNINTERRUPTED’s Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers.

Additionally, Amazon Freevee has secured a short-term film licensing agreement with Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution for a limited selection of titles such as Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Logan, Hidden Figures, Murder on the Orient Express, and The Post, which will be available to customers on the free streaming service. This news follows the previously announced Freevee deal with NBCU for an exclusive network-window for films from Universal Filmed Entertainment Group’s 2020-21 theatrical slate, including titles such as Dolittle, The Invisible Man, Promising Young Woman, F9 (Fast & Furious 9), and Sing 2.

Amazon Freevee also announced that it has increased its FAST offering to more than 75 channels, including exclusive linear channels for the hit Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience, as well as the original The Kids in the Hall comedy series.
