    From the Borders web site:

    25% off Books and Music
    15% off DVDs
50% off Food or Beverage items

This deal is apparently good for current or retired teachers. I'm not sure how you prove you're a teacher.

most places sell dvds for 20-30% off all the time and with no tax.
Borders sells at the highest prices even when on sale.

    Thanks, Nick!

I believe in the past they have usually asked for a school ID or a paycheck stub. And, I believe they are fairly liberal in this promotion. That is, you don't need to be a classroom teacher in the strictest sense...almost any kind of educator will do....as long as you have some kind of ID to back it up.

You're welcome, Mike. And thank you for all the work you do on the Weekly Roundup. It's required reading for me each weekend. You and Dave Lambert have saved me hundreds of dollars.

They ARE very liberal about it. "Educator" can be school support staff as well as teachers and even if you homeschool your child (finally, you all get the props you deserve [IMG]).

As most pointed out the prices on DVDs are very high comparatively, so it takes a bit of hunting to find an item worthy of the discount.

Waldenbooks and Borders are now owned by the same company.

They are doing it slowly, but Waldenbooks stores are starting to look more and more like Borders stores each day.
