Ok I have been ok'd for a new set of speakers, but I can only get bookshelf size, WAF and all, so I am looking at a couple of options. Comments on these systems, or suggestions.

    1 2.1 Divas

    2 Paradigm Mini-monitors

    3 PSB Mini's

    4 Polk 35 or 55 series

    any comments or other suggestions

I am looking to keep it under 1300 thank you

    Ryan

I'm biased to the Mini Monitor's because thats what I have and I love them. I'm sure alot of other people will second this. Just my .02 [IMG]

$1300 for what? A pair of bookshelf speakers, a 5 piece set, or a 6 piece set (with subwoofer)? If the $1300 is just for a pair of bookshelves, you can get some very high end stuff.

    I'm thinking Axiom M22's (~$400 a pair) or Axiom M3's (~$275 a pair)
    Their website: www.axiomaudio.com
    Some reviews:
    M22 @ SoundStage
    M3 @ SoundStage followup
    M3 @ Masters on Audio
    M3 @ Good Sound
    M3 @ SoundStage
Both can be found cheaper via www.audioshop.on.ca
    That's my thoughts!

In that case, how about 3 PowerMonitor500's across the front stage...should be nice.

    My recommendation:
    Paradigm
    1 pair Monitor Minis ($300)
    cc-370 center ($325)
    1 pair adp-370 dipole surrounds ($550)
In the alternative, if you prefer monopoles or just want to save money, a second pair of minis will be fine for surrounds. You could even go down to Titans ($200) for surrounds, and save even more money for a subwoofer or something else. Any of these options will sound terrific for the money.
Also in your price range add to your list Divas by Swans (www.av123.com - look at the 2.1's) and HTD lvl 3 (www.hometheaterdirect.com - combo X). These are both online only sellers, and both are supposed to sound much better than they cost. I mentioned the Swans in particular because you indicated that WAF is an issue here. The Swans look fantastic, and have somewhat of a cult following online, much like Paradigms do.
Edit: I just noticed the Divas are on your original list.

Ryan, do you have any size constraints on the bookshelves? height, width, depth? You mentioned the WAF rating [IMG] so I figured this was a good question to ask since bookshelves' sizes can range quite a bit.
    cheers,

As far as size goes, I am going to play dumb on that issue, ie you said bookshelf but didn't mention how big, might get into some trouble but ohhh well. I am leaning heavily toward the swans I think the look would help ease the WAF factor.

[IMG] Good call on the Divas if that's the way you go. I've never heard them, but based on reviews I doubt you will be disappointed with the sound. You might even be blown away. I have to admit that ever since I picked up my Paradigm Reference speakers (in black laminate), I have been secretly jonesing for the Divas. I cannot fault the Paradigms for sound at all. They're fantasic. But something about the look of the Divas. Maybe I'm more superficial than I thought. Nah.
