With Amazon now in control, it's guaranteed there will be another film. In fact, there may be additional series or made for streaming movies on Prime as well. Seems like when these streamers gain control of a franchise, they love to dilute it by flooding the service with several different offerings.
Yeah, the only thing throwing them off is that the next movie will presumably have a whole new cast. If Casino Royale or Quantum Of Solace had just come out, you can bet that there'd have been all kinds of spinoff shows featuring the supporting characters to fill the time between movies.

That might be the only way they can keep me subscribed to Amazon Prime more than just the couple times a year (and usually via whichever free/discounted, week/month-long trial offer) when I shop quite that much w/ them (like now)...

Their video service has been too lacking/poor (overall) for me to even bother watching when I do reactivate most times...

To play the instrumental and vocal of "We Have All the Time in the World" from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was so wrong...It used for Vespa and not Tracy. As a Bond enthusiast, this really took me out of the movie into thinking had anyone on the film even seen OHMSS?
They played cues from the other films throughout the movie problem is the movie never earned them

Ok I made it to 125 min and I have to take a brake. I’ll come back to it. This flick is so long and drawn out but the story isn’t there to support it. I’m a lifetime bond fan and this is the first one I couldn’t make it thru. Even OHMSS which is long never lost me. I’ll get back to the end soon, in a way it’s a sad night for this bond, trek, Star Wars fan not finding enjoyment in any of my childhood favs

Watched it again last night with the wife and loved it even more. One of the best Bonds ever and a powerful touching conclusion to the Craig 007 quintet. Bravo! Can’t wait to pick up the 4K disc.

This doesn’t have nothing to do with continuity as it’s outside of the events of the movie and regardless of what movie they say is coming next, up until the Craig films you can watch them all in whatever order you want.
There is no real continuity.

I totally agree with you that each of the pre-Craig Bonds could be viewed independently of each other.

I do seem to recall (and my memory is vague these days!) a couple of instances, however, where knowing what's happened in a previous film could add more meaning to the scene:

* In Diamonds Are Forever, the beginning has Bond (I believe) seeking revenge on Blofeld for what happened at the end of OHMSS (the previous film). Of course he could have been simply pursuing Blofeld as part of his regular job, so it's not a big deal if you haven't seen OHMSS, but there's more resonance if it's interpreted as being connected to the end of OHMSS.

* In Licence To Kill, in the opening scene, Felix's new wife Della floats the idea of Bond getting married, and Bond says no. Felix explains to Della that Bond was married before, a long time ago. I interpret this as a reference to what happened in OHMSS. Again, it doesn't have to be connected to OHMSS, but makes more sense if it does.

I disagree with this one. Diamonds totally ignores the events of OHMSS. If anything, it's a direct follow up to You Only Live Twice - it even starts in Japan. At one point, Bond asks Moneypenny if there's anything he can bring her back from Holland and she replies "a diamond, in a ring." I don't think that line would be in there if Bond was supposed to be mourning the loss of his recently deceased wife.

I think they were doing it so it could be interpreted either way. Bond was apparently on leave while “killing” Blofeld in the opening scenes, so why wouldn’t he be “on the clock” with MI6 if he was just following up on this loose end?
