I picked this title up yesterday, and so far it's a lot of fun. My only complaint so far is the repetitive score on the levels I've played. I may lower the volume dramatically and play an ambient CD during the game.

This game is 1000% better than the N64 bomberman games. The cel shading technique works pretty well here, but it isn't as gorgeous as I expect Zelda will be.

I would recommend this title to fans of the Bomberman series.

I haven't played the multiplayer yet, but I imagine that will be great.

Let us know how the multiplayer is, particularly with regard to load times, John, if you get a chance. I'm mostly interested in this one for the multi-player, and the Bomberman party game for the PSOne was decent, but killed by it's slow-ass load times.
Quicker play and faster load times would put this one over the top, as I loved all the old Bomberman games on the SNES. :D

On Bomberman MultiPlayer:

I really hate to say it, but it's a blast. I quite enjoy it. There are 5 or 6 modes which are 4 player. If you have less than 4 players, the computer makes up the difference. So far as I can tell you cannot manipulate the AI, and the computer's little buggers are relentless.

My favorite mode is probably reversi, where you flip tile colors with bombs, the one with the most tiles wins. There is also a coin collecting mode, a revenge mode, and a standard battle mode. There are one or two more I can't remember or didn't try. There are multiple maps for each.

I loved it, my partner hated it.. primarily because it's difficult and extremely fast paced. You can easily get lost or confused as to the goings on... and with multiple bombs exploding, it's easy to get caught in one's wake.

I also played through the entirety of the first world, and I've quite enjoyed the difficulty and complexity.

Still highly recommended.
