Let’s look at Body Parts. Making his Hollywood debut as a screenwriter when his AFI thesis script The Hitcher was filmed in 1986, Eric Red further buttressed his horror credentials with his second script, the cult vampire western Near Dark (1987). After making his directorial debut with Cohen and Tate (1989), he would return to the horror genre with Body Parts, a Hands of Orlac themed thriller based upon a novel by the same writers who gave us the source material for Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo, Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac. Previously released on DVD by Paramount and on Blu-ray by Scream Factory, Kino has licensed the movie for its UHD Blu-ray debut.
