Always felt this was where DePalma faltered.

There area certain number of directors who's films I will watch and collect regardless of anyone's criticism. DePalma being one of them. Although BD is not one of my favorites due to the subject matter there are parts of it that are fantastic.
As an aside and one who currently has a film in theaters, another director I will always watch anything from is Coppola and hopefully will go see his Megalopolis this week.
