Bob Hope's Cat and the Canary coming to R2 (1 Viewer)

Amazon.UK is listing Bob Hope's classic 1939 old dark house comedy CAT AND THE CANARY as a March 1st DVD release for R2. Does anyone have any idea if this might have a chance of actually being released in North America on DVD as well?
To the best of my knowledge this film has never been released in any pre-recorded video format before.

It was available on VHS from a company in Canada a number of years ago. Very poor print. May have become a public domain title because Universal has never put this out on VHS or DVD for region 1.
