"Bob and Ted and Carol and Alice" has been announced for a Nov 16th release according to DVD Answers. There is no mention of the aspect ratio. I sure hope its 1.85:1 like it is supposed to be! Columbia has been "spotty" on their releases ie "Gidget" and "Castle Keep"
Now if Warners could release "Inside Daisy Clover" and
    "Sex and the Single Girl".

...and if only Paramount would release Love With The Proper Stranger

i'll pick up Bob and Carol, but only if in the correct AR.
otherwise it will stay on the shelf with Gidget and all the other MAR Columbia titles i had to pass over this year

Yes "Love With The Proper Stranger" should definitely be released on DVD by Paramount. Natalie Wood, Steve McQueen and a great score by Elmer Bernstein!

Unlike Castle Keep and Gidget, B&C&T&A is not a "scope" film and I believe my old laser disc is a full frame rather than P&S. I, too, want an OAR release but since it is one of my ALL TIME favorites and the laser disc transfer is average at best, I'm upgrading no matter what.

Sorry, slightly (mostly?) off topic, but when this movie was first released some comic said he thought it was about the Boston Bruins defensemen - Bobby Orr, Ted Green, Carol Vadnais, and Dallas Smith. Say it out loud and "and Alice" does sound like "and Dallas." javascript:smilie('[IMG]')

Hopefully Paul Mazursky will chime in for a commentary on B&C&T&A. I interviewed him a few weeks ago and he's a great storyteller. His commentaries on Moscow on the Hudson and Enemies: A Love Story are pretty good as well, despite some dead spots.

DVDFile mentions that the release is a tie-in to a big-budget remake. I couldn't find any information about a remake of B&C&T&A. Is DVDFile perhaps thinking of Fun with Dick and Jane?

Does anyone know if this is in the proper AR and enhanced for widescreen TVs?

Yes, yes, yes, it is OAR and enhanced. Looks exactly like it did in the theater, color and sharpness-wise.
