For the third time in four months I have had Amazon.ca cancel items I preordered at a discount after they delete or modify the listing to a higher price.
This latest time was with the Blue, White, Red Gift Set, which they have had listed since January. Amazingly, just after the release date, the lower priced version I ordered gets deleted, and a new, higher priced "Three Colours Gift Set" version is added (the price difference being only the percentage off).
I contacted customer service and was told the two versions were not the same, which is bullshit. Both feature the same three films, and the original I ordered was the only version they had available until a few days ago. If there is any difference it is only in the box art, which they have yet to post in the new listing.
Amazon previously cancelled an anime DVD I had ordered after they reversed the two versions of the disc that they had on their site, making my lower priced order void.
In January, they did the same thing with another title, taking a preorder that was available for three months and deleting it after release in favor of a new, higher priced item.
If this was a one time occurance I could see it being an error, but this is looking very much like a bait and switch policy.
