The signal path is as follows...

Sony BDP-S1
DVDO iScan HD
Lexicon MC-1
Sharp XV-Z10000 Projector

I am running component video from the Sony to the iScan, and DVI from the iScan to the projector. Audio via coax from the Sony to the Lexicon.

For some reason, Blu-Ray discs may or may not play in this configuration. Usually, I hear the audio come up on the disc, but just get the 'blue screen of death' as for the video. SD discs play fine in this config so it isn't that I have something mis-wired, etc.

I am starting to wonder if this is an issue with my Sony Blu-Ray player. I was an early adopter, and while I have kept it up to date with software, the more I think about this, the more likely it seems that it is the culprit.

Before I toss my BDP-S1 in the trash, and buy a new Blu-Ray player, does anyone have any thoughts on this??

Well, after reading the Anchor Bay FAQ you provided, that sure looks like the problem. However, I am pretty positive that I have used this configuration with my Blu-Ray player with no problem in the past (although I am only probably 99% sure as I have made a lot of changes in the past couple of months). Also, I have a DirecTV HD DVR connected via component video to the iScan HD processor, and it passes video just fine over the DVI connection to the projector. Either I an missing something else, or I need to climb behind the rack and double-check all my wiring again...

Since my projector is only capable of 720p I don't think I lose anything by running analog between the iScan and projector, and do have a long component cable in place (in place, just not in use). Does anyone make a short adapter cable that is VGA to three RCA FEMALE connectors? If I had that, it would be simple to just plug my existing component cable RCA RGB connectors into the adapter cable, and the VGA into the iScan.
