Surprised Sony didn't mention Spidey at all but I'm willing to wait. I can't imagine they would pass up the great "synergy" with the new movie coming out.

And am I the only one disappointed in the Fox releases...? I love Master and Commander but the rest of the titles don't really do anything for me. I would have bet money we would see the other X-MEN films but maybe that's for later this year.

The Spidey films, liks so many others are a fait acompli release to tie in to theatrical or new to dvd releases of the sequels. Same goes for the Oceans movies, the Harry Potter movies, and the Bourne movies (and next year I'm sure the first four Batman movies will come out). Do we really need dates or announcments for these things?

I'm in the minority , I'm sure, but very few of the announced Fox titles interest me. If I had a BD and only a Bd player I would probably buy more just to have an excuse to use it, but if I end up getting one t the end of the year, I wouldn't be looking back to these releases to make many purchases.. That's just me though.
I have seen mention of the X-men movies- sometime in the spring or summer it was said.

If Fox doesn't compromise the release of Alien in the fall (like only releasing the directors cut like they did on DVHS) then I might buy into the format at that time. Otherwise I'm kind of happy I'm not seeing a whole lot I really want. Casino Royale is going to be about the biggest one I'll miss not having most of this year. But then if the sd dvd is any good, maybe I won't miss it at all.

I've been on the fence as to which format to buy (been considering even both), but after all of these Blu-ray announcements, I'm definitely leaning toward the PS3 - especially since Warner will start fully supporting Blu-ray. There are a number of titles out now, but some ones I really like coming out this year.

As a HD-DVD man right now I will say this...the titles from Fox are okay, but the Disney/Buena Vista ones look pretty dang good.

I really hope to see DTS-HD Master Audio on both the Pirates titles. :emoji_thumbsup: This is going to be a good year for 1080p HD Bluray, well have to see what HD-DVD does to compete? HD-DVD may not be out for the count but if Universal goes Bluray this year that will be a sign that Bluray would now have a lead over HD-DVD. This year could make or break ether format and there is a small chance the winner could be crowned this coming Christmas.

I like quite a few of these titles, actually. House of 1000 Corpses and Cabin Fever are both favorites of mine. Reservoir Dogs is nice too. I guess it looks like Lion's Gate is actually delivering the most goods for me, personally. I like a few of the Fox titles but nothing really jumps out and screams "must-buy" except for "The Fly" and "Predator."

Also, I was hoping to hear something about the James Bond Ultimate Collections being released on Blu-Ray. It gets harder by the week not buying the SD releases.

some listing for the bluray titles in april. I am only interesred in the fly remake.. however it seems that it doesn;t have many extras. I remember fox movie channel doing a trivia thing years ago. I wonder if its the same one?

its not on the collectors edition dvd. the commentary track is from the collectors edition. it also has deleted scenes, and trailers. no documentaries or etc like the 2 disc set.
I guess I am not missing much at the moment.

Between all the good HD titles and buying a Bluray player and a new receiver this year, this HT enthusiast is going to be dead broke .
