Strange combination I know, but picked up Wrath of Kahn yesterday and was wondering how these two discs were. Any word on upcoming SEs?

Transfer on BLAZING SADDLES isn't tops, and there is lots of "combing" if you have a progressive scan display

but the movie is GREAT and I have heard no grumblings of a re-release

The current release of Blazing Saddles is excellent. Great picture and nice mono mix. And cheap! You can usually pick it up for $15. But a new SE is in the works. Don't know what the difference will be. Perhaps a full length commentary? The current release has Mel talking for about an hour over the 1st half of the film (very informative!).

The 2010 transfer is nonanaorphic, but overall pretty good. I wish Warner would revisit this one a la 2001...
