I was at my parents house the other day and noticed that they still had this old subwoofer. I kinda chuckled at it when I saw it but man...does it put out some bass! The thing was built in the mid 90's. It's basically dual 12 inch servo drivers set in a cabinet along with a 600(I think) watt amp and it weighs around 80 pounds. The cabinet is around 3 feet in length! Anyways...can someone please tell me something about the sub before I haul it off to the antiques roadshow.

I remember seeing that sub. They were selling them on eBay quite a bit, if I remember right. Funny thing was I didn't even consider it because it "only" had 12" woofers. Now I've got a sub with a rather large enclosure and just ONE 12" woof (SV something or other [IMG]), and it just kicks total butt with very little power. Back then I thought a sub wasn't even worth considering if it didn't have a 15" woof, and even better an 18" woof. Figured you needed a lot of area to move a lot of air. It's funny the things you can learn on the Net. God bless HTF and all the other great forums out there that really inform us consumers and help us get the most for their cash.
Back on topic, yeah, I remember that sub. I think the specs were impressive, but like I said, I didn't give it much of a look because of the "little" woofs [IMG]. I'll be watching PBS for you and your parents' sub. Hope it's worth a mint [IMG].
