I went to pick up the Memorex at CompUSA but ended up getting the Verbatim instead.
The Verbatim should the $11.97 as the regular price, no rebates.
I hope this is the case.
~$4 each is very reasonable to me.

I decided to go with Verbatim since they are rated better at higher speeds.

CompUSA has 25-packs of Memorex (made by Ritek) for $99, coming out to $4 per disc. I picked one up, hopefully the prices will have gone down a little more by the time I've used them all!

I heard they're working on rewritable dual-layer discs, don't know if they'll work with existing drives though. Sure would be nice as I like to use single-layer rewritables to make sure everything comes out the way I want it, but if I have to use a dual-layer I'm stuck with it if something goes wrong.
BTW the Memorex discs I picked up are JUNK- I've gone through 5 of them and 4 of those stopped writing in the middle and gave me an ERROR message. The rest are going back hopefully to exchange for some more Verbatims, which cost more but have worked fine so far. Interestingly my 7 year old Pioneer DVL-909 plays them with no problems, but I have a newer but much cheaper player which won't read them at all!

Both Verbatim and Memorex (I believe) have larger packs available for the first time at my Best Buy today. I saw a 10 pack of the Verbatim for $60.

Memorex had a 3 pack for $20 and a 15 as well but can't remember how much that was. Nice to see that they're making it out there at this point. Still waiting for the price to drop though [IMG]
