There has been alot of discussion lately about the Deckard replicant or not subject. Ford says it was a major point of contention between Scott and himself and that he felt that Deckard needed to be human to add a human point of perspective and that people would relate better if he was human and the human idealogy. He said the Scott wanted Deckard to be a replicant. He also commented about the voice over narration, he said it was shitty because the had him do so many takes and so many changes to it that he basically got fed up and read it very uninspired and to his surprise that is the one they used. He said he never wanted the naration but Scott had been convinced that people would not get the story without it.

Yeah, all this stuff has entered the Blade Runner lore... the backstory is very interesting. Read the book Future Noir if you want to find out more.
Ford was contractually obligated to do a few different narrations. I don't think Scott ever really wanted narration for the film, though - it sounds more like something the studio would want to add.

Interview? You know they have pictures of naked chicks in that! :D "Joey"
Anyway, I don’t know why everyone spends effort on that. It’s not something set in the stone. It’s an open ending suggesting that he could be either a human or a replicant. It doesn’t matter at all. That’s why it’s a masterpiece. It raises the moral question and that’s all.
