Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows the weight of the PB2U (black)? Eric from SVS told me the shipping weight was 200 pounds but the sub itself was significantly lighter.

Does anyone here knows the weight of the sub itself? I need to know how hard it is to move that sub when it arrives.

190 back brakin' pounds for the real wood ultra and the
black is probably a bit lighter since it doesn't have the
wood laminate over the MDF.

Alan,

There's no significant difference in weight between the wood finished and black finished PB2-Ultra (soon to be dubbed the PB12-Ultra/2 by the way).

You do have the lack of veneer of course, but the black finish process pretty much makes up for this difference.

I recently helped a customer in California (I just happened to be there to help) move a PB2-Ultra into his home from the garage, then situate it into a corner.

While it would be ill-advised to even TRY to do this alone, with two reasonably healthy adults it was quite easy. There are good hand-holds on these subwoofers, and they just are not that awkward to move.

All things considered I've had more trouble carrying in three bags of groceries from my car.

Hee, hee. :) My wife knows mine is coming, but I don't
think either one of us really knows what's in store for us until it gets here...

I wish everyone could have seen the look on my wifes face when she saw my PB2-ISD. A buddy and I placed it on the floor in our family room and her eyes were wide. It was funny, but I had to be careful not to laugh too much. She is not altogether used to it yet. She got mad at me last night because I am still playing with placement. I placed it into a corner and it really went nuts. She was in another room and she came out saying "that had better be actual thunder I hear." It was actually the machine face in the end of the 3rd Matrix film. Luckily, it was storming here last night... :D

It really does weigh 190lbs Alan*T. I tried to do it on my own with pics, but I didn't get very far. (I had help on standby) I got it out of the van and then to the first step with a hand-truck. That was as far as I could go with out risk to body and sub. Like Ron stated though. Two can do it very easily. The b PB2-Ultra is one very nice sub.

I keep thinking that for kicks I might try to weigh it somehow. :) (I'm just 1/2 curious *exactly* what it weighs...) Probably need two scales or something, one under each end.

Does anyone hear have the EXACT dimensions of the black PB2U? SVS website list it as "approximately" 19" wide, 26" tall and 29" deep.

I am building a shelf directly above the sub and I want it to match my sub's dimension exactly.
