No one has started a thread yet on Black Friday and Holiday deals, so I thought I would start one, especially since it looks like @Sam Posten and I won't be co-hosting a Black Friday show on either of our podcasts this year.

I'll kick this thread off with a beauty of a deal I saw at the Reno Costco yesterday:

Hisense 100U70N 100" Class 4K QLED TV - $1649.99 includes 1 yr Hisense warranty, 1 yr Costco Concierge warranty, and 3 yr Allstate warranty (5 years total)
Sale Price ends 12/2/2024

A 100" 4K QLED for $1,650 is amazing. I'm guessing it's on par with the old Vizio M Series, when they were decent.

@Todd Erwin , slightly off topic, but what are your current recommendations for cheap Roku streamers?

For the best value, I would go with the Streaming Stick 4K. It has Dolby Vision and HDR10, and supports Dolby Atmos on most streaming services. Currently $34 on Amazon and possibly other retailers.

Are there any drawbacks to the 4K Express+ other than no DV? I won’t have any use for DV and the form factor might actually work better for me. Am I correct the Stick needs external power? This will only be for a second football game on a computer monitor using Hulu.

Both need external power. The Express+ has a slower processor and less memory. The cost difference is $5 right now I believe.

The Streaming Stick 4K just dropped to $30 on Amazon.

Yeah. I already got it for $33. No big deal. It’s working well on a 27” 4K computer monitor. The nice thing is when it goes to sleep, a computer monitor will also go to sleep.
