My sister gave me a book called "The Gallery of Regrettable Food". It's full of photos of unappetizing food (from the 1950s?).

Appetizer was melon soup for 4.95. It was cantelope in a blender.... but I guess it was worth it for the ambience
Sounds like bisque to me. My favorite is strawberry bisque, chilled just right and served before Halibut with white wine sauce. Mmmm. . .

Anyway, bisque is very popular in a lot of restaurants and the fruity ones are especially likable. Of course that doesn't mean you have to like it, it just means that some people regard it as a delicacy.
