I want to buy Birth of A Nation. Should I get the 2-disc Kino disc now, or has anyone heard of a new version?

The Kino 2-disc is a must-have. I'd also recommend the rest of the Griffith Masterworks box, but the music scores for Intolerance and Broken Blossoms are atrocious.

Thanks, Patrick! Guess I'll hold off on Intolerance for now. But I'll definitely get Birth.

The Eureka region 2 has better contrast and a sharper picture than the Kino. I prefer the Eureka for the that reason. The Kino has accurate color tints which are too intense to my eye. They should have lightened up a little on the tints. Kino for supplements, Eureka for the film.

The score for Birth of a Nation on the Kino disc isn't very good either. I enjoyed everything more with it muted.
