I never experienced reversal with 6.1 and a front center channel used for the rear center signal.
Plus, I personally believe that reversal is extremely rare in HT setups, even with 6.1. Simply because you also have visual cues from the screen telling your brain where the sound is supposed to be coming from.
Every reversal experiment I've ever seen published, was very careful to supply absolutely no visual clues to where the sound was coming from. That's why the brain gets fooled.
