    From DVDFile;
Just announced from Sony Music are three new compilations from two of pop music's biggest artists. Adding to the other Billy Joel DVDs on the market, on 11/20 Sony will issue Billy Joel: The Essential Video Collection, featuring no less than 24 music videos (Piano Man, All For Leyna, Tell her About It, Honesty, Sometimes A Fantasy, The Night Is Still Young, Pressure, My Life, Keeping The Faith, A Matter Of Trust, You're Only Human (Second Wind), Everybody Loves You Now, Uptown Girl, You May Be Right, Big Shot, The Longest Time, Allentown, Los Angelenos, It's Still Rock N' Roll To Me, Bay Grand, She's Right On Time, Goodnight Saigon (Live), Leave A Tender Moment Alone (Live) and James.) The videos are presented in full screen with Dolby Digital 5.1 and PCM 2.0 stereo tracks, as well as a Joel discography.

    Yes! Yes! Yes!
This has to be better than the DVD
of his videos that came out 2 years ago
where he essentially talks over the first
    30 seconds of every song.
Finally, this is being done RIGHT!

Any reason why there's no videos from Storm Front on it? "Leningrad" and "We Didn't Start The Fire" are conspicuous by their absence.

    Hi,
24 videos for $19.99? That's the way I like it!
I still have the 2 Billy Joel Video Albums on *spit* VHS (I think you are required to say it that way, right?) and just compared. The first 20 videos are exactly the same as on the 2 videos, even listed in the same order. The last 4, however, are new. I'm assuming the live version of Goodnight Saigon is taken from the Live in Leningrad concert that was also available on *spit* VHS before, but She's Right On Time and James I've never seen before, neither live nor as a music video. I can't wait!
    >Any reason why there's no videos from Storm Front on it?
Good question. There was a seperate VHS... sorry... *spit* VHS with just the Storm Front videos, but I doubt they'll release that seperately on DVD. I guess they're just not on there because the DVD Video collection is essentially a rerelease of the 2 Video Albums and only contains videos from that time (up to "The Bridge"). And the Storm Front videos are all on the Greatest Hits Vol. III DVD anyway, albeit with talking.

It's funny. I was just thinking about writing
Fox last week and asking them about the
BILLY JOEL COLLECTION I & II (red & blue) that
came out on VHS in the 80's. They had the
rights to it and I was hoping they would put some
    effort into a DVD release.
Lo' and behold, Sony music announces essentially
both those collections rolled into one for DVD
    release.
I am looking forward to this as GREATEST HITS III
(on DVD) has Billy talking into his videos. Not
really the way I want to have his videos played.
    Now....
If someone REALLY wants to make the day of many
of the Billy Joel fans out there, let's see
LIVE FROM LONG ISLAND released. It was put
out on VHS from CBS/FOX video back around 1980-82.
That concert features many of his older songs,
    and is a spectacular concert.
    Meanwhile....
Anyone a fan of Billy Joel owes themselves to
pick up Live at Yankee Stadium on DVD.

This sounds like a great set. Finally I can see The Longest Time video again. It seems like forever since I last saw it. That and also Pressure. Woo hoo!

This is great, and I just pre-ordered it from DVD Empire. One of my favorite laserdiscs is a CLV disc of a BJ concert in Long Island just after "The Nylon Curtain" was released. (I still have all my BJ vinyl.) Man, does his hands ever move fast on "Angry Young Man"!
I never have bought the DVD of his Yankee Stadium concert. Maybe I'll add that to my order if it's still available.

Ron, I put my post up about the Long Island video before I saw yours -- but obviously I agree!
