I have been collecting some DVD-A discs for the surround mixes since I upgraded my equipment to DD5.1/dts capability. I do NOT have a DVD-A player. On most of these discs, a DVD-V player can access a DD surround mix only. On the Alice Cooper disc, if I press "Stop" on the remote when the menu comes up, wait for my players "default" screen to come up, then press play, I can view the video for "Elected". According to the rear sleeve, this is accessible only with a DVD-A player. Discovered by accident.
DVD player: Sony S-530D

If its playing back at all as a video it has to be stored in the video region of the disc (really the VIDEO_TS folder).
So that being the case, I'm not too surprised you got there.
