    Check out the following link:
    http://www.usatoday.com/life/enter/m...harbor-dvd.htm
Basicly it says there will be a 2-disc/PG-13 theatrical version release on Dec. 4 and then a 3 disc/R Rated release on Jan. 15. The R version will have more violence, stronger language, less of the love story, some nudity and more focus on the men.
    Let the complaining begin.

Looks like I'll be waiting an extra month to get this one. You gotta love this format! I'll probably rent the theatrical version and buy the director's cut.

    This is actually good news..
The article doesn't mention if the 3-disc set will include the theatrical version also but I hope so.

Man I'm jazzed about this one... I'll be getting both versions what the heck, it'll be interesting to compare them.
I gotta say though that while I loved the theatrical PG-13 version of the movie, I am VERY glad Bay decided to re-cut the movie into R, not because I want nudity, but because I want to see more of the attack itself.
In any case I'm very pleased with the news. Can't wait.

Awesome! They're may be hope for this movie yet. As it is, I expect to see it on the battered woman channel(Lifetime) any day now.

I missed this one in the theaters but I guess I'll wait until after the new year and watch the R rated version. Any clarification if the 3 disc will have both versions or not?

God, this movie sucked. No amount of tweaking can fix it. I won't buy either. I'll be glad to rent the R rated version, of course. But I think what will be even better is just watching it HBO or Showtime in High-Def. I can just tune in when the action starts, because the rest is crap.

Thanks for the insightful review! You have completely turned me around. Initially I thought it was a brilliant, insightful look into the nature of existence, and now I realize it is utter trash! I guess I am an idiot to have even seen it.
Some of us liked this movie, faults and all. It really tried to be something, and it failed in some areas, and exceeded in others. Let it (and your disdain) go, Matt.

He had a plan. Maybe you just didn't see it 'til it hit you between the eyes. But, it started to make sense... in a Tyler sort of way. No fear. No distractions. The ability to let that which does not matter truly slide.

Why is it that someone can praise the movie and say they will buy the disc, but when someone says they didn't like it and won't buy it he gets attacked? If he was critical of others liking the movie I could understand getting all defensive, but he didn't.

Hearing this, begs me to ask this question.....
When will the R-rated version of Titanic come out with more nudity and less romance?! If they got rid of the love story, it would be a 30 minute movie showing the old lady at the beginning, and then the iceberg at the end! [IMG] haha!!!
In all seriousness, I would be MORE than happy to get the R-rated version as opposed to the PG-13 version of Pearl Harbor.
