Big Screen Flicker?

    In my continuing adventure with finding a functing TV, it appears that I have yet another problem. This is the fourth TV I have been through in the last month.
    I was watching TiVo when I noticed a sort of flickering of brightness. It is very subtle, but it is noticable on all inputs. It is a very slight shift in brightness, from higher to lower.
    I am especially aware of this issue as the TV before had the same problem but much, much worse. It was a 57HW40 which is known for its flickering. See these thread for more info:

    My question is this: is some amount of flicker normal on big screen TVs or should it be rock solid. I think it should be rock solid and not flicker at all, but I could be wrong.
    This set is going back on Monday.
