    Other than the slick packaging, does anyone know if there are any differences between this and the R1 version?

    I believe the specs are as follows:

    - Director Tim Burton Commentary

    - Featurettes

    1) The Character's Journey

    * Edward Bloom At Large

    * Amos at The Circus

    * Fathers And Sons

    2) Filmmaker's Path

    * Tim Burton's Storyteller

    * A Fairytale World

    * Creature Features

    *The Author's Journey

    3) Fish Tales : Fish Tales

    - Finer Points A Trivia Quiz : Filmmaker's Path

    - Preview : Big Fish, 13 Going On 30, Spider Man 2, 50 First Dates, Hellboy, The Company.

    Wow, for the same price as the single disc R1 edition... this comes with an exclusive Film cut (?) and 24-page hardcover illustration booklet with drawings by Tim Burton!

    I guess by "film cut" they seem to be referring to what appears to be a lithograph:

    Quite a deal for $19.43 US (DVDHeaven)!!

    I just ordered my set.

    I was tempted to order it. Is shipping expensive?

    I was also thinking about ordering "Hero". Although I can't find any good deals on the Japanese release (which seems to be the best).

    Hey Greg,

    I believe the total cost including one week air mail shipping (small packet) to Canada came to $25.41 US... I guess that would come to about six something in postage fees which seems very reasonable.

    I've only been a customer of DVDHeaven for the past month or so, but in the 3 or 4 times I've dealt with them since, I've had nothing but great experiences and positive feedback to express!

    They are surprisingly very quick and efficient with processing and sending goods, which is amazing for such low overseas shipping rates, and it's also quite evident that they take extra care in packaging items with much thought, moreso than most domestic retailers..

    To recieve 3 boxsets in a matter of weeks from East Asia (I'm generally hesitant to purchase boxsets from anywhere online!) and have them all arrive in absolutely pristine and perfect condition without so much as a tiny dent or bent corner, tightly secured in layer upon layer of extra thick bubble wrap padding, is pretty damn good!

    Again, I've been a customer for maybe 3-4 weeks now but am extremely impressed and DVDHeaven has easily become my preferred source of R3 Korean import DVD's on the internet. They also consistently offer the cheapest and most competetive prices of any other retailer and often have exclusive stock items too. I would highly recommend placing an order with them if you're considering piking this up!

    Well if you have a credit card, which I assume would be needed for any other e-tailer, than there's not much of a difference between sending a direct transaction or having it process via Paypal...

    Marco did you have to pay any customs charges when you ordered from DVDheaven?

    I don't believe so. I have all my orders shipped to my mom's house and she didn't mention anything about customs fees.

    Same transfer as R1...? It was decent but a bit too filtered for my taste. [IMG]

    Dave, have you done screen comparissons between both versions?

    Is this definitely not a direct transfer port of the R1 edition.. I would have assumed it would be?

    PS - I still haven't recieved my order yet, I hope it arrives this week!

    Dave, you might as well go for it - it's definitely not WORSE!

    I haven't had the chance to compare as I don't own the R1 and don't remember ever viewing it previously... but the price is cheap, the packaging is better imo and chances are the bit rate is improved. At least thats what I remember hearing.

    I'd say if you don't already own the DVD, it can't hurt to go for the R3 version. you're definitely not losing any pq.

    I'd say it's a safe bet.
