Thought I posted this before but can't find it so I will try again. If you have a 7.1 amp but are only running a 5.1 set up can you use the 2 extra channel to bi-amp your front 2 speakers? Just wondering, this is a great site for quality info and I really enjoy everyones input, thanks.

If by “amp you actually mean “amp” and not “receiver,” then yes you could use extra channels to bi-amp. It could be done on a receiver, but only of the extra channels have separate input jacks. Some receivers have them on some channels; few have them on all channels, and usually it is the secondary channels that don’t have them.
