The BBFC added a couple of listings for new BFI titles to their website today, for Voice Over (1983) and Repeater (can't find this title on actor John Cassady's IMDb filmography). Both have a UK release date of Monday 24th October.

Mondo Digital review of the BFI's Flipside title Voice Over:

Voice Over (BFI Flipside release) - Mondo Digital review

The BBFC added a new listing to their website yesterday for the BFI's release of The Devils (1971), giving the title an '18' certificate with a total running time of nearly 107 minutes (the same version as the cut UK cinema release back in 1971).

Do you know if Revolution: The Director's Cut will be the original theatrical release or the shortened re-edit with a new narration imposed that we got stuck with in the states?

Have checked the BBFC's website, and they added two versions of Revolution (1985) to their website on 19th January, 2012. One is 121 minutes and 19 seconds long. The other has among the Remarks "additional material", and is 110 minutes and 44 seconds long. However, this could be the original theatrical cut. If it is indeed special features (DVD/Blu-ray extras), there is no description of any of the extras on this second listing page.

Going by the Amazon UK listing page for this BFI title, it looks like there will be both the original theatrical cut (Blu-ray only) and the director's cut (DVD and Blu-ray) in this release. Also in the Amazon product description, it says the re-cut version with the Al Pacino voiceover will be included.

REVOLUTION ran 126 minutes theatrically. The R1 REVOLUTION: REVISITED DVD runs 115. Was there another version? In any case it'll be good to have both in one place.

One of the most exciting announcements from the BFI for my tastes, from their latest newsletter:
We are delighted to announce that starting with August 2012 we bring to you the most asked for and long awaited GHOST STORIES. Great films with a passionate following of fans with titles such as Whistle and I'll Come To You (1968 & 2010 versions), The Stalls of Barchester and A Warning To The Curious. September 2012 brings Lost Hearts, The Treasure of Abbot Thomas and The Ash Tree; The Signalman, Stigma and The Ice House. October 2012 includes View From A Hill and Number 13. Five volumes here to collect and what a collection to have for keeps!
I picked up the Aussie set back in February, so this stings a bit. But, considering it's the BFI behind it and it'll have two episodes that are pretty rare, this is another set to beat by the BFI this year.

Had been considering getting the Austrailian DVD release of Ghost Stories, but with these five volumes being released in the months before Christmas, probably will wait for the BFI volumes.

They might. Hang in there. Maybe they can use the same techniques used for the DOCTOR WHO remasters have been utilizing to slightly improve the picture.
