I always hated my puny Energy 10" sub. Things would just vibrate like mad in the room so I had to turn it down. I decided to give it one last chance and bought a BFD this weekend.

I measured using the Stryke disc and a Radio Shack SPL meter. Here's what I got (nos. are compensated)

Hz. Before After

15 76.5dB 75.0dB

17.5 82.0 79.0

20 88.5 85.5

22 92.0 89.0

25 97.0 93.0

28 100.0 96.0

32 105.0 97.0

36 103.5 96.5

40 100.5 94.5

45 99.0 93.0

50 96.5 89.5

56 101.5 88.5

63 112.5 89.5

71 108.5 92.5

80 101.5 88.5

89 106.5 89.0

100 98.0 89.0

I think I did pretty well considering I got most of it right on the first try. Only had to go back a couple of times to tweak the settings.

And it sounds AMAZING!! I can't believe it's the same sub!! Rattles are (mostly) gone and the overall sound level is just so much more......THERE (can't think of any other word).........

And if it weren't for HTF, I would have given up long ago......

Ari- Join the club! :)
Like yourself, I got a real benefit from eq'ing my sub.
Now, on another thread, I'm asking the question of what about eq'ing my mains, in the general hardware section...
