I'd like to connect my dvd player (SONY DVP-S550D)directly to my TV's s-video but I have an old 32" SONY XBR (KV-32XBR37)with only 1 s-video input. Which would be the better route? Connecting my dvd player and other s-video devices through my pro logic receiver (SONY STR-GX900ES) or using an
automatic switcher?
Which option would provide better results?
If your receiver has multiple s-video I/O does it mean it does "s-video switching"? Don't all receivers do switching?
Thanks in advance for your response.

David, I had the same problem and just ran everything through my recevier. It is much easier to just switch everything through your receiver. I don't notice any loss in picture quality either.

I think in general any degradation by running video through a receiver is not noticeable. I would just do it that way for convenience sake.
