Be sure to stop by your local BestBuy for their "Back To School" brochure/coupon book. They put them out at the registers last week.

Coupons for $3.00 off 2 or more DVDs (CDs/VHS) over $9.99.
    (Hey, every little bit helps.)

Also coupons for video games/accessories/PC Software, home office and entertainment furniture, MS Office XP for students, and Energizer battery 8-packs.

The coupons are valid 7/21/02 thru 9/1/02.

A few people posted about this in my Weekly Roundup last week, which is in the Coupons & Bargains section.

The conclusion was that most BB's handed them out at the door to folks entering the store, just like what happenned with the Fox Demo Disc #1 last Thanksgiving.

The upshot being that most BB's don't have them left any more. But try your local locale; you might get lucky!

If you don't see those, look for a funny-shaped brown coupon book featuring the PC game Warcraft. It contains a coupon good for $2 off any regular priced DVD. Good through 8/3. I scored three of those books, and still have one more coupon left to use.

Yesterday They had the coupons in our Local BB right at the front entrance in a wire rack. The brochure with the coupons said get ready for school or back to school or something like that and it was a brown colored brochure with the coupons on the back.

Yeah, my Best Buy still had plenty of coupons in a rack by the front entrance. I picked up 5 of them since they don't expire until September 1.

The one I was at today had hundreds of them. They had them in the video game, software, DVD and CD areas. They also had them at the register.

the bestbuy in delaware on 202 had thenm at one of the registers.

it should be noted however that this $3 coupon off 2 or more dvd's or cd's is off the total price not each dvd or cd.

so if you by 4 dvd's it is still only a total of $3 off.

so i would use each coupon for 2 dvd's at a time then make another transaction for 2 more dvd's.

I bought 2 dvds today and the lady took $3.00 off both dvds.

So I am confused on this one.

well you are lucky it says right on the coupon "$3 off your total purchase of 2 or more...."

so i guess that could be interpreted as off on the total paid, or each dvd.

i hope when i go in tomorrow i get the $3 off each dvd too.

Sorry, but I refuse to take part in anything that employs the phrase "back to school" before the last week in August.[IMG]

Here in Dallas, the old school district I was in would start mid-August and I had to be back for two-a-day football practices first of August.

So using the "back to school" coupon is fine by me.

well thsat didnt happen for me.
my best buy must have too many people that can read.

i took speed 5* and loaded weapon 1 to the checkout.
he looks at the cuopon and tells me that all dvd's must be at least $9.99.
so i go back and get innerspace $14.99

then he does the thing and rings up my bill to be only $3.00 off the total bill.

for the people who are getting $3 off each dvd, do you notice if the bestbuy person is scanning the cuopon or just glacing at it to see that it says $3 off.

if it's scanned i can't see how it could take $3 off each and not the total price.

Forget the back to the school coups if you're in Dallas. ALL dvds, regularly priced 9.99 and up, are automatically ringing up at $3 less than marked. I'm gonna open another thread on this, as it's got nothing to do with the national back to school coupon. See my haul list there. [IMG]

    Tony,

My Best Buy takes $3 off the total purchase. When I bought 4 DVDs the other day, I went to the register with 2 of them and a coupon and sent my husband to another register with the other 2 and a coupon. That way, we at least got $6 off instead of just $3.
