I’ve been slow to redeem my digital codes from my blu rays. I have a bunch of them on Vudu. Is it the best way to redeem my codes for the best extras. Can I redeem this elsewhere and still have them accessible to Vudu?

There are a couple threads which have links to a Google Document that generally lists the best place to redeem things, although options have changed over years.

As to where best to redeem, ultimately, it depends on what your usage is.

My first recommendation, if you haven't done so already, is to create a free Movies Anywhere account and to link it to your Vudu account. Many new codes will only redeem at Movies Anywhere, but Movies Anywhere is a partner of Vudu so if you redeem the code on the MA page, it'll then transfer to your Vudu account. Movies Anywhere also links with iTunes, Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Warner, Sony, Fox and Disney participate in Movies Anywhere. MGM, Paramount and most indies do not.

I’ve got my 4K/3D copy of Alita in hand. Anyway to redeem this so that the 3D is available?

The code sheet says to redeem at FoxDigitalMovies dot com. Can I still do it at Vudu or MoviesAnywhere?

Vudu and UV are different - but can be linked. This is from an email UV sent out some time back:

So... Vudu is OK. If I understand correctly you'll still be able to redeem UV codes via Movies Anywhere even after UV shuts down - but I wouldn't wait just in case.

But not if they are UV codes from non-MA studios. I haven't followed all the details close enough to know if the codes are supposed to still redeem on Vudu after UV closes, but even if they said that's the case I personally wouldn't take the chance...

Unfortunately digital codes never redeem for a 3D streaming version. But you may at least get a 4K code redemption out of it.

I don’t have that particular disc but not all 4K disc codes redeem in 4K. So I didn’t want to promise him something I couldn’t guarantee.

Ah. Gotcha. It does redeem in 4K by the way.

I have experienced that. Many don’t redeem in 4K. Will some of them upgrade later?

I have been going thru all my discs, a big task, using MoviesAnywhere. Most redeem there, but some do not. I set those codes aside. I’ve run across several that require a digital disc to redeem. I’m wondering if any of these will still be good and hope there’s a way to redeem without the discs, which would be a pain in the bum?

I’ve yet to get a code expired message.

There have been some codes that would redeem in 4K on iTunes, but only in HD on Fox. I have experienced that issue more than a few times. Particularly, some Fox and a few Sony titles.

Some of them will, but some will not, at least they haven't for me.

For those codes that won't redeem on MoviesAnywhere, you might have to go to a site like movieredeem.com. and pick a service like iTunes or Vudu.

Remember that Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount are not part of MoviesAnywhere.

When I went through my movies in December 2017, the only way I could get the disc based codes to work was through iTunes. And that method only gives out SD versions. I don't think that works anymore, anyway.

I've since upgraded most of those titles using Vudu's Disc to Digital program. (And by upgrade, I just mean I bought a HD version that overrode the SD version in my library.)

Do how does redeeming Disney codes work? I’ve got a bunch. I can get Disney rewards for the codes and hopefully movies. I’ve entered about 4 at DisneyMovieRewards and only one of them displayed a button to also get the movie. DisneyMoviesAnwhere is closed but it says go to MoviesAnywhere. However the Disney codes are unrecognized there.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Some titles only have codes for rewards, but do not come with digital versions of the movie. What are the 3 titles that weren't recognized by MA?

I’m a little late, but one movie not recognized at movies anywhere is Lion King Diamond Edition 3D. I got the points from Disney but no movie either at MA or D.

Not only am I not timely, I’m not observant. The following movies don’t work at MoviesAnywhere: Tangled 3D, Finding Nemo 3D, Frankenweenie 3D, Lion King 3D. The Little Mermaid 3D does. When I look at my sheets with the codes I find the ones that don’t work make no mention of a digital copy and the one that did, does mention the digital copy. Doh! The Little Mermaid does work and upon entering the code at Disney it gives me a button to redeem the movie at MA. So no double entry required.

I wonder why Disney gives digital movies on some, but not others?
