I hate to be the textbook noobie...but here goes anyway. I'm putting together a HT setup for the living room of my new house. I just bought a pair of 804's and I'll be adding the htm1 or htm2 center, B&W in-ceiling rears and I'm not sure which sub yet. It will be split 50/50 movies/music. I have a loose budget of around $1500 to work with for a reciever or seperates. I've been eyeballing the Yamaha 3800 which claims 140w/channel...but will that be enough juice for the 804's? Would adding a 3 channel amp to a cheaper reciever like maybe the Yamaha 661 sound good? Or is there a better way to go? I'm not stuck on Yamaha that just happens to be what my last reciever was. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks

Hi Josh, great choice on speakers. On a $1,500 budget I would consider a Denon AVR-2808, and two Outlaw 2200 monoblocks. You can then use 2200's to power your 804's via the AVR's pre-outs, and use the AVR to power your remaining speakers.

Another option altogether would be to purchase a second-hand Rotel RB-1080 off of Audiogon, to power the 804's. B&W owns Rotel, this combination has excellent synergy.
