Best TV value for ~$1000 (1 Viewer)

Not kept up with "smaller", non HDTV sets. Now looking for 32"or 36" tv for another room. Any suggestions re best value in this size tv for about $1000?

I think some Samsung HDTV models are in that price range. I found the Hitachi 32udx10s at CC last month for $1199.
So HD is not far from your $1k target.

I'd go with a 32" Sony Wega... why? 16:9 enhanced mode for anamorphic DVDs; it's a feature I couldn't live without! You could do a price match with Sears.
