I'm interested in hooking a cable connection into my PC. I just got 2 200GB HDs at CompUSA, and want to use them to do some offline recording, and possibly transfer some shows to DVD-RW to watch downstairs. Any suggestions?

Video capture can be very hit and miss depending on your capture card, system configuration and software choice. The two links I am giving you should lead you to all the info you will ever need to produce perfect video capture everytime.

    www.vcdhelp.com and www.doom9.org

check out the reviews under "capture cards" you will see that many cards do not produce the advertised results. If you are looking for a cheap card though check out this deal

    At officemax.com
    Avermedia DVD EZMaker PCI
FREE after rebates - deal expires 12/6/03
    http://www.officemax.com/max/solutio...3&moreInfo=yes

    It gets decent reviews too.

Flyvideo 3000 if you plan to use the tuner. $60 at Tecnobazar.com. The most compatible, the best video, plus it gives great S-video capture. I went through 5 TV tuner/capture cards before finally being satisfied with a Flyvideo.

How about the PCTV from Pinnacle? Is anyone using one of these products? I see that a lot of PC TV tuners that record TV programs are in mono.
